Recipes again....

So I realized today that I keep posting new recipes and had the thought... "Maybe I should make a food blog". Then I thought again about all the work to do that and decided maybe I will wait. So, for now, you get to read my recipes in between everything else!

My most recent experiment was Egg Rolls and Sesame Chicken for dinner tonight. The sesame chicken was good, but the Egg Rolls were a flop. So, if you have a good recipe for Egg Rolls, PLEASE let me know! Or, anything else good that has cabbage in it. I have a head of cabbage someone gave Ryan that I was trying to find something to make with it, and making the egg rolls didn't use enough. Here is the link for the sesame chicken. We had it over Rice. It didn't have as much flavor as I thought after marinating for 3 hours, but it was still good.

Another recipe, thanks to Genn, was Chocolate Cake in a mug. I tried it a few weeks ago and it turned out pretty well. I topped it with whip cream and raspberries. There are chocolate chips in it and they all sank to the bottom of the mug. So, next time I think as soon as I pull it out of the mug, I will turn it upside down to see if some of the chocolate moves to the other end of the cake. All in all, it was pretty good for a 5 minute chocolate cake!
Here's the recipe:

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
